Training, Procedure Development and Environmental Regulation
EnRep was chosen in 2008 as a Pre-Select Subcontractor to CH2M Hill Plateau Remediation Company (CHPRC), whose primary focus is the environmental cleanup of the Central Plateau of the Hanford Site located in Washington State. This site is a DOE facility that is the largest environmental cleanup project in the United States. EnRep provides training and procedure development and environmental regulation compliance support to CHPRC whose objective in this contract is to eliminate risks and protect the Columbia River at the Hanford site.
Chemical Management Program Improvements
EnRep, Inc. was awarded a subcontract for Chemical Management Program Improvements to provide technical expertise to CH2M HILL Hanford Group, Inc., a prime contractor to the U.S. Department of Energy, at the Hanford Tank Farm Complex in Washington State. Support included: Chemical Storage Location Identification; Construction Subcontractors Identification; Update of Chemical Inventories; Procedure Compliance; Inventory Database Population; Training Material Preparation; Procedure/Document Revision Assistance; Training Assistance; Annual Chemical Management Assessment Participation.
Chemical Management Program Assessment
EnRep was awarded a subcontract by CH2M HILL Hanford Group, Inc. who was the prime contractor to the U.S. Department of Energy. CH2M HILL Hanford Group, Inc. held the prime contract for management and environmental restoration of the Hanford Site Tank Farms; a $300 million/year project responsible for ≈177 million gallons of radioactive hazardous wastes.
The scope was to evaluate current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements, upgrades, or changes to the existing Chemical Management Program used at the tank farms. The procurement process was reviewed and the quantities and types of materials were checked for inappropriate excess or deficiencies. A Physical Site Inspection was also conducted at the Hanford Site Tank Farms in accordance with appropriate RCRA, TSCA, and OSHA regulatory requirements.
Environmental & Waste Management General Support
EnRep, Inc. was awarded a subcontract for Environmental & Waste Management General Support Services, to provide technical expertise to CH2M HILL Hanford Group, Inc. at the Hanford Tank Farm Complex in Washington State.
EnRep provided expertise in various areas related to environmental requirements, environmental restoration projects, and waste management support such as: Waste Management Standards/Requirements Identification Documents (S/RIDs) updates; Review and updates to the CH2M HILL Waste Management Basis; Updates to operating procedures to ensure requirements from the S/RID and Waste Management Basis were implemented in the field; Environmental Protection S/RID; Environmental Notification; Asbestos/IH Procedures; Underground Petroleum and Hazardous Material Storage Tanks; Air and Water Quality Assessments; Update of the CH2M HILL Environmental Program Description which included the Environmental Management System (EMS).
Chemical Management & Regulatory Compliance
EnRep was selected by Lockheed Martin, Inc. to support this two year project which included the stewardship of over 300 chemical storage areas throughout two multi-million dollar Department of Defense contracting facilities that generated ≈ 200 tons of hazardous waste annually. This responsibility included developing and implementing a chemical tracking system that documented usage rates and control methods.
Chemical and Hazardous Waste Management
This 10 year project with Dayco Products, LLC included on-going facility and regulatory compliance support services for a Large Quantity Generator. Responsibilities include Emergency Planning and Community Right-To-Know Act (EPCRA) Reporting, Toxic Chemical Release Inventory Reporting, EPA Biennial Hazardous Waste Reporting, RCRA Training, and Hazardous Waste Transportation and Disposal in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations. It also included the tracking of all chemicals purchased and used at the facility.
Hazardous Waste Management
This 10 year on-going Project with A.R. Paquette & Co., Inc. included the chemical and hazardous waste management of over 40 conditionally exempt small quantity generators, over 60 small quantity generators, and over 15 large quantity generators in the southeast United States. Federal, State, and Local Regulatory Requirements are implemented at each of these facilities.
Hazardous Waste Determinations are conducted, Chemical waste segregation is completed, and DOT packaging requirements are enforced. EnRep assists in the overall management and proper handling and storage of chemicals and wastes at each of these facilities. All required documents are provided, including waste profiles, land ban forms, and manifests.
Chemical Management and Control
This two year project with McDonnell Douglas included the management of all hazardous waste streams and chemical purchases at a Department of Defense Contractor.
Support included developing and implementing a system for the tracking and receipt of chemicals throughout the facility. Proper storage and handling procedures were also developed and implemented, along with the training of all employees on required chemical and waste management procedures. A chemical assessment was conducted so that a waste minimization program could be developed and implemented at contractor’s facility.
